White House Hosts National Day of Prayer Event

President Trump establishes a Religious Liberty Commission.

President Donald Trump held a National Day of Prayer event in the Rose Garden at the White House on Thursday.

The president said, “It’s a great honor and I’m delighted to welcome you to this very special place, the White House to celebrate the annual National Day of Prayer, and we’re doing it up big.”

“We’re bringing back religion in our country and we’re bringing it back quickly and strongly,” President Trump said. ”Because for America to be a great nation, we must always be one nation under God.”

“Today as the American people turn to God in prayer, we continue the tradition older than our independence itself,” the president said. “Nearly 250 years ago, on June 12, 1775, the Continental Congress appointed a day of fasting a prayer so that American fighting for their liberty could seek the help of the Almighty.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he advocates for religious freedoms and faith-based initiatives.
  • For members of the Religious Liberty Commission as they “offer diverse perspectives on how the Federal Government can defend religious liberty for all Americans..”
